Collie Fulford is an associate professor of writing and rhetoric at Syracuse University where she directs the writing center. She has served as a writing center or writing program administrator across four institutions. Moved by issues made palpable from those standpoints, she uses feminist ethnographic approaches to study writers, writing cultures, and curriculum, often working with students as coinvestigators. Recent scholarship appears in The WAC Journal, Perspectives on Undergraduate Research, Pedagogy, and several edited collections. Her monograph, Insiders, Outliers: Centering Adult Student Writers at an HBCU, received Outstanding Book Awards in 2026 from both the Conference on College Composition and Communication and the Association for the Study of Higher Education.
