Founded in 1988, MAWCA is a "regional affiliate" of the International Writing Centers Association. Our region comprises New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and the greater metro District of Columbia region, including Northern Virginia.
MAWCA's mission is to provide networking and professional development opportunities to writing center professionals (both peer tutors and directors) through our annual spring conference and regional events and workshops.

MAWCA has member rates to suit your preference, including rates for students, part-time professionals, and full-time professionals. Your entire staff enjoys access when you join as a Center member for $50.

This funding opportunity is broadly construed as supporting writing center programs during COVID-19. It’s no secret that writing centers often lack sufficient funding, especially in times of crisis. Funding may be used for:
Maximum individual grant allocation- $1000
Minimum individual grant allocation - $500
