Directions to the SJU Writing Center:

Free parking is available at the Hawks Landing parking garage (# 52 on the SJU campus map).  Just follow the signs for “Event Parking” that will direct you into the garage.

If you would like to walk, the easiest way to get to Merion Hall is to walk out of the parking garage and back toward City Avenue.  When you cross City Avenue on 54th Street, it becomes Old Lancaster Road.  From Old Lancaster Road, turn left onto North Latches Lane.  Keep walking, past The Barnes Foundation (on your left), until you get to the main drive that leads into campus.  Turn left into that drive and follow it to the main building in front of you—Merion Hall.  The Writing Center is located on the first floor of Merion Hall, room 162.  It’s tucked in an alcove near the vending machines and the elevator.  Just follow the signs we will have posted inside the building.  The walk from Hawk’s Landing via Old Lancaster Road is .7 miles and will take you about 15 minutes.

There is also ample and free street parking on neighborhood side streets near Merion Hall, which will get you a lot closer to your destination. Be advised, however, that it’s two-hour parking and strictly enforced.  If you can stay within the two-hour time frame, feel free to park along Raynham Road between North Latches Lane and City Avenue.   From there, you will turn right on North Latches Lane and walk until you get to the main drive that leads into campus.  You’ll make a right into that drive and follow it to the main building in front of you—Merion Hall.  You can also park on Old Lancaster Road and follow the walking directions above for the route from the parking garage.

If anyone has any mobility issues or is on a super tight schedule, please let us know.  We have arranged for a few spots right outside of Merion Hall.

If you have have questions or find yourself lost, please call the Writing Center at 610-660-1341.
